Space Phoenix Systems is developing multiple in-orbit platforms designed to support the evolving needs of diverse industries. The Hermes Class spacecraft are purpose-built for pathfinder missions and light payloads, providing Commercial Service Providers (CSPs) and In-Space Manufacturers (InSPA) with easier access to space—and the ability to safely return their assets to Earth.
Hermes spacecrafts enable customers to test faster, learn faster, and scale with confidence. Because if you can’t bring it back, you can’t scale it.
Hermes provides operational cadence for CSP facilities that no longer have access to the International Space Station. The spacecraft also allows InSPA operational cadence for proof-of-concept and agnostic support for multi-purpose platforms.
Hermes supports in-situ science and measurements and dovetails well with our Technology Readiness Level Acceleration Program - TR LEAP™. High cadence, upmass and downmass, is essential for validation and advancement to TRL-7 through to TRL-9. Repeatable return missions bring back high-value assets to Earth following testing and evaluation in space, thus reducing costs and creating a more efficient pathway to operational deployment.
Subsystem Categories Suitable for Integration into Hermes (dependent on power requirements) include:
Our spacecraft are designed to interface with and qualify for integration across major rideshare and dedicated small satellite launch vehicles. This flexibility gives customers greater access to launch opportunities while supporting a high-cadence, repeatable mission model.
Purpose-built for commercial space logistics, Hermes is designed to help reduce the cost and complexity of getting valuable technologies to orbit—and bringing them safely back to Earth.
With our Returnable Payload On-Demand solution you get fully managed space logistics ‘white-glove’ service from pick up to retrieval and return. We make accessing space simple by removing the burden of organizations having to develop and operate their own proprietary space systems thus freeing up assets for more innovation.
7 Steps to Launch and Orbit:

An edge compute module is available as an upgrade to the Hermes fleet to meet the data needs of diverse industry sectors. The module offers the capturing and processing of large amounts of data and filtering that data for critical issues. This upgrade reduces the latency allowing organizations to work with the most urgent data first in real-time.
A pressurized container also known as a pressurized cargo module (PCM), is designed to protect sensitive or delicate payloads that require environmental control from extreme conditions, protection from radiation and contaminants, and protection from launch, orbit and reentry shock and vibration. Such payloads can include but are not limited to, scientific instruments, crystals, biologics, and precision electronics.
Enabling the round-trip movement of high-value payloads, materials, and technologies between Earth and orbit—giving innovators the ability to test, learn, refine, recover, and fly again. By connecting access to space with reliable return logistics, Space Phoenix Systems is helping turn breakthroughs in microgravity into scalable, real-world innovation.
